Dr. Alexander Gray has over 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. As Chief Medical Officer at IDEA Pharma, a division of SAI MedPartners, Alex leads both internal and external scientific and clinical initiatives. He is responsible for consultancy methodologies that align clinical development with commercial success metrics, ensuring a strategic path to market for early-phase assets.
Alex has extensive expertise at the clinical and commercial interface, advising clients on product positioning, portfolio strategy, and phase transition decision-making. He is also deeply involved in clinical trial design and analytics of clinical success. As part of his commitment to education, Alex lectures on drug development to undergraduate and postgraduate students at University College London and St. George’s University of London.
Alex holds a Bachelor of Science in immunology (first class) and a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), both from University College London.
Outside of work, Alex enjoys mountain biking, sea kayaking, listening to live classical and rock music, and exploring history, philosophy, and evolutionary biology.
